A TEST SHOOT   17.11.2008   PERSONAL

last month, i did a little test shoot.  my intention was to shoot an advertising campaign for THEORY.  JESSICA SHINYEDA of THE FACE LAB was kind enough to model for me and she did an incredible job!  thanks Jessica.  Jessica is an amazing make-up artist and stylist and apparently a great model too.  if you are looking for a make-up artist for your wedding or for any reason, be sure and check her out.  here are a few of my favorites:

NANCY & JASON - ENGAGED   14.11.2008   ENGAGEMENT

let me just say...I HEART NEW YORKERS!  or at least my clients from new york.  i have never met a more gracious and hospitable group of people than the people i have had the opportunity to work with this year.

Nancy and Jason are no exception.  they are a warm and kind couple who make you feel right at home.  i met with them last month near their home on the upper east side (i just like saying that, because i am starting to understand manhattan and it makes me sound really cool).  of course just as we started to shoot the rain and the wind came up.  i love shooting in what i like to call "alternative conditions" because it allows me to captured something a little bit different.  we had a blast running and splashing through NYC...their umbrella even got turned inside out from a big gust of wind.  what a blast!  the best part of the day though was watching Jason and Nancy interact.  i absolutely love it when i can look through my lens and see, i mean really see love. the way they look at each other, hold each other, adore each other.   what an amazing job i have.  okay, i'll shut up and show you some phots.  congrats Nancy and Jason.

taxi!

i love this series from inside the taxi.

on a roof top.

this is one of my favorites from the shoot.  i love the wet pavement and back light from the cars.

my good buddy Jason Wells was with me and captured this amazing shot.

i had to include the subway somehow.

another shot by Jason in timesquare.

EMILY & ORLAY - WEDDING   02.11.2008   WEDDING

Emily and Orlay were married way back in august up in CORDILLERA.  i cannot say enough good things about these two both as a couple and as individuals.  i have yet to meet two people who live with more passion and true love for life and those around them...truly incredible.

okay, i have to admit that i am a sucker for love and romance...maybe that is why i love photographing weddings so much.  i wanted to share the vows that Orlay wrote for Emily because i think that it so clearly demonstrate their love and passion for each other.  Orlay, thanks for being so willing to share these special words with the world.  he writes:

My Darling,

Today in you the earth sings
and when your voice is heard
my heart is at rest within my chest

These mountains are covered with pines
and they echo the sound of our love

In this vastness of pines I ask you

to unarm your fears and forget your tears
as you aim our fate in your bow of hope

Know my love that in you I've found my way,
there will be no more wandering, for I've found home
while i followed the sound of my hummingbird's call

From the deepest most secret parts of my being
I give you my Eternal Love

i literally got choked up listening to him speak these words.  (the vows are excerpts from some of Orlays favorite poems).

now to the photos...be sure you wipe the tears away so you can see the photos clearly...i know you are all crying.  : )

some boy stuff.

Emily looking gorgeous.

the guys.

the girls.

i love the way these two look at each other...look at the tears wellig up.

Cordillera is such a gorgeous location.

Orlay is a concert pianist and played the most incredible piece during the ceremony.

the amazing details.

they danced with as much passion as they live with.
